Who We Are:
Play It Forward NY is an organization dedicated to supporting children, teens, and parents of those experiencing bullying, and helping spread awareness about the issue. At Play It Forward NY, we engage with the Staten Island community, striving to create an environment that is free of judgement and bias at our monthly support group. Children and teens can openly and confidentially share their experiences and allow us to work with them to provide better solutions to overcome bullying and harassment, while leading a proactive and healthy lifestyle. We also provide helpful insight to parents of children experiencing the issue, and help them establish more efficient communication and action with the institutions commonly involved (schools, police, community leaders).
It is also our goal to build confidence by encouraging children/teens to become active in their interests via clubs, sports teams, and in their community. We feel a foundation of confidence is essential and the true solution to ending the issue. By sharing our personal experiences, we demonstrate to children/teens that bullying covers such a small part of one's life and that the best has yet to come.
